Don't know if you need POP or IMAP or just use WebMail?  Here's the difference!

POP
allows you to download your messages directly onto your computer and empty the server of the messages. (Like going to the post office and taking mail out of the postal box)  Recommended if you primarily use a single computer to check your email.

IMAP
We recommend IMAP if you access your email from numerous computers..  IMAP is basically a mirror of the server.  If you move a message in your email client, then it will be moved on the server.  This option is almost a must for people frequently using different computers to access their email.  With IMAP, on Outlook, it will create a brand new folder structure on the left hand side.  (Your personal folders will no longer be used.) 

WebMail
Web mail is an application that runs on the server.  You are viewing the actual mailbox where the email resides.  Great because you can access it from any computer connected to the Internet.  Downside is that you are limited to ??/mb storage and if not careful you may exceed your storage limits and email will be susopended until you delete old files.

Most Common Combination
Most people find using POP on their main computer and while away from home/office use WebMail.

iPhone, BlackBerry etc.
IMAP is the best choice for all smart phones

DSL Users
Use port 2500 for smtp settings or otherwise use the smtp server specified by your DSL service provider.

Windows 7 Users
If you have purchased a computer with (or upgraded to) Windows 7 you will notice Outlook Express (Windows Mail) is no longer included. Free Email software for Windows 7  Thunderbird Recommended
